We are pleased to confirm that we are opening our TIC/Library in Cockermouth from Friday 4 December 2020 at 10.00am.
To protect the health and safety of our staff and customers, we will have new covid-secure measures in place and our opening times and offer will be slightly different.
To welcome you back, library hosts will greet you on arrival and explain our new arrangements. There will be clear signage throughout the building to help everyone find their way around safety and hand sanitisers will be located at our entrance and exit points.
In line with Government regulations, the wearing of face coverings will be mandatory. You will be asked for your name and contact details when you arrive to assist with the NHS Test and Trace Programme.
Not all our usual activities will be available but there will still be plenty of resources available for customers to enjoy.
Select & Collect will be offered from Cockermouth Library as an alternative to browsing. Select & Collect customers can request up to six items of stock of a certain genre or author (if available). This is not a request service, but is free of charge. Customers are asked to bring their own carrier bag
when collecting their order and book them out on the self-issue machines in the library. Customers can also use the link on the Cumbria Libraries Select & Collect page: https://www.cumbria.gov.uk/libraries/selectcollect.asp
Allerdale Borough Council are still exploring options to reopen their advice desk in a covid-secure way. In the meantime, enquiries can still be made by visiting their website www.allerdale.gov.uk or calling the customer contact centre 0303 123 1702.
